Land Clearing Burn Ban Established 2021

All county-wide burning is subject to immediate closure at any time if DNR declares an unusual fire danger index or when the County Fire Marshal in conjunction with the Jefferson County Fire Chief's declares an extreme fire danger. No burning of any type will be allowed. Examples of such include; recreational fires, beach fires, bonfires, or the use of portable outdoor fire places, briquettes, charcoal, wood pellets or any other material commonly used for cooking which when ignited produces heat and flame fire will not be allowed.When a declaration of extreme fire danger is in effect, it is unlawful for any person to sell, transfer, discharge, ignite or explode any fireworks, display fireworks or special effects within unincorporated Jefferson County.
This prohibition also includes when air stagnation conditions exists, as determined by the Washington State Department of Ecology, the Olympic Region Clean Air Authority and/or the Department of Natural Resources.
