About the 2016 Bond:
In February of this year Discovery Bay Fire and Rescue proposed a bond asking the residents of our district to for funds to replace Fire Station #51 on East Uncas Road with a new building. Thank you to the residents of Fire District #5 for showing your support by voting yes and passing the measure.
We have been working diligently over the past few months navigating the legal process to secure the bond money. Now in the planning and permitting process, it is exciting to finally see this project coming together with tangible results.
We are looking forward to a practical building with sufficient space to meet the needs of our volunteer fire department and greater Discovery Bay community.
The new building will be a metal frame structure, approximately 9,400 square feet, with 4 equipment bays, sufficient office space, a training-meeting room that will also be available for community events and a shelter in the event of an emergency, restrooms, and a kitchen.
